Cheyenne, WY
We have the pleasure of playing in Cheyenne almost every month at a restaurant called The Metropolitan that is located in the heart of downtown. The crowd always brings the energy and is ready to party!
Cheyenne is a little over a 90 minute drive for us, but sometimes going through Loveland and Fort Collins is a nightmare which slows us down. Over the years, we have found our favorite spots, one of them being Sanford’s which is just down the road from where we play. They have a huge menu offering over 150 different options, several of them cajun style. The picture on the right shows only a tiny portion of their elaborate display of antiques.
Cheyenne also offers a boot tour/scavenger hunt where the goal is to find the more than 35 hand-painted, 8-foot-tall cowboy boots located at businesses throughout the city.
We consider ourselves lucky for the opportunity to visit this wonderful city several times a year!

Steamboat Springs, CO
What a day we had! Our car overheated on the way, so we were stuck on the side of the road for about 90 minutes until Jon’s son brought us another vehicle we could use that could transport all of our gear. A few panic attacks later, we made it to Steamboat and were set up and sound checked in time!
A few of us took the gondola up to the venue, Thunderhead Lodge, which is located on top of Mt. Werner. It has one heck of a view! The wedding was gorgeous and a bear cub even showed up. The wedding reception was a big hit with the help of Jon on drums, Carey on fiddle/guitar, and Nate on sax. We always love having a full band sound!

Grand Junction, CO
Grand Junction is a four-hour drive from Denver, but it is one of majestic views the whole way! I-70 took us past Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Silverthorne, Vail, and Glenwood Springs. The journey took us through three main tunnels, but the tunnel pictured below is the No Name Tunnel which is located in Glenwood Canyon. You know you have reached Grand Junction when you see Grand Mesa, which is the largest flat top mountain in the world. Feel free to read about it HERE.
This is our fourth time playing for the Mesa County Fair, and we always have such a great time. It’s nice we go on last of all of the acts, because it is typically in the high 90s during the day. Another regular performer at this fair is a chainsaw juggler named Mad Chad, and he is super fun to watch!

Denver Botanic Gardens
It’s always great when we only have to drive 30 minutes down the road in order to play at a gorgeous venue! The Denver Botanic Gardens hosts hundreds of events every year, and we were fortunate enough to be asked to play for an amazing cause. St. Jude Children’s Hospital has been helping children and their families since 1962, so it felt really good to be a part of this fundraiser.
The load in was quite the challenge with the 92 degree heat and with the garden being open to the public. After lots of weaving through guests and LOTS of ice water, we finally made it into the beautiful Boettcher Memorial Center. The show was a big hit, and the load out was much easier :)

Cañon City, CO
Cañon City is about a 2.5 hour drive for us, but it was TOTALLY worth it! We travel through Castle Rock, Colorado Springs, and the Beaver Creek Wildlife Area with beautiful scenery the entire way. Cañon City has a lot to offer with the Royal Gorge being only a few miles up the road. There is also a theater that was built in 1918 that we were able to visit, which you can check out here!
The show itself was a huge success as we were asked to be the headliner this year for their Flashback on Main Festival which takes place in the historic part of the city. We created a full band vibe for this performance to keep people dancing throughout the night with the use of live drums, guitar, and fiddle. This show is always one we look forward to, and we hope to be back next summer!

Estes Park, CO
We had the pleasure of traveling to Estes Park to play at The Bull Pin once again. This venue has really fancy bowling lanes, a fantastic menu, and side bar area where we play. If you go, try the elk bratwurst!
The drive from our home to Estes brings us through Boulder, Lyons, and up through some very windy roads. On this journey, John typically drives and Amy tries not to get car sick.
It was cool to see some elk just chillin’ by the side of the road! Estes Park is simply gorgeous, and we can’t wait to get back up there!

Manor House
Nestled in the hills of Littleton, CO, the Manor House was one of the most breathtaking venues we have ever played! We could see all the way to Red Rocks Amphitheater from the stage. It was really interesting walking around the mansion and reading about the history, which you can do here! We even read (from what we could make out) letters from Theodore Roosevelt!
The wedding was an absolute blast, and the bride came up and played violin with us. All of the guests had a great time and kept the dance floor packed the entire time. Hopefully we have the opportunity to play at this magical place again!
